Chapter 9 The Meeting

The throne Jean was sitting on was extremely comfortable. They sat there in silence for a while, until the woman with black hair shouted,
"Ex cantwan wayet anin langori!" The woman with blonde hair looked at her and sighed. Then there was silence again. Jean turned around to talk to Lise and saw that she was to busy eyeing the boy in purple. Jean turned back around and started humming to herself, but she stopped quickly when the black haired woman gave her an annoyed look. A few minutes later a small nervous looking man with grey hair holding a scroll ran in. He stopped in front of them, rolled out the scroll and spoke,
'We are here today to crown our new leader, Jean dors-' The black haired woman sitting next to Jean interrupted,
"So you mean to say that this little girl," she pointed at Jean "is to be a leader in replacement of Charlie Dorsy?"
'Yes' replied the man, 'The rules clearly state that the youngest child of a leader is to become the next lea-'
'I know what the rules are! you you stupid man!' She screamed,
"I know miss, I merely meant she might not know th-" He was cut off by the black haired woman,
'GET ON WITH IT!!" she screamed. The man looked more nervous than before,
'Y-yes, m-miss,' he stuttered 'J-Jean will b-be crowned with the the fl-flower tiara, f-for sh-she was first seen amongst f-flowers.' Another man walked in, he was much taller  and wore golden clothes, he was holding a beautiful tiara. Jean was made to kneel and she was crown as "Jean Dorsy the new young beauty." she guesses it was just a whole lot of words strung together to look smart, then they had to have a photo taken. When the meeting had finished Lise stayed behind to talk to the boy in purple, this really annoyed Jean but she said nothing. Jean went upstairs to get changed out of her uncomfortable uniform. She walked across her room to the dresser, while she had been in the meeting somebody had made beautiful clothes for her, she slipped on a pretty dress and went outside to swing.

Chapter 8 The Castle

Jean tried hard not to worry about meeting the queen, she had a strange feeling it was not a good idea. Instead of thinking about the queen Jean concentrated on walking in a straight line along a specific row of bricks, she imagined she was walking along a tight rope high above a river. This didn't seem to help seeming as Jean was scared she would fall. Jean looked behind her, it felt strange walking along this long road all alone high above a village where everyone can see you, she felt watched. As Jean turn her head to carry on walking someone or something ran into her. Jean fell hard on to the bricks, grazing her knee. She got up scowling.
"Jean! I'm so sorry!" Jean looked up to see her sister,
"Anne... What are you doing here?" How had Anne got there? Jean didn't remember anyone following her, she had been convinced the door would only open for her.
"What am I doing here?" Anne sounded angry,
"What are you doing here? I'm taking you home right now that's what I'm doing, mum will have a heart attack if we're not back before morning!" Anne flung her hair back and glared at Jean with her hands on her hips. She looked really angry and maybe even worried, but Jean couldn't really see what was worrying about the place. Jean didn't know what to say, she just stood there, speechless. Jean hadn't thought about her family when she left, she felt a pang of guilt, but she could not turn back now, not even for her mother, Anne would just have to come with.Jean ignoring her sister for she didn't know what to say carried on walking.
'Jean' yelled Anne 'where are you going?' Jean turned around and stared at her sister, after a minute she said 'I'm going to meet the queen.' Jean didn't like her sister being here, she was so boring never in for an adventure and always worrying about everything, it was enough to drive anyone mad. Her sister was wearing her uniform for some strange reason, her expression changed, she looked excited.
"You're, going, to meet, the, queen?"
"Yeah, don't really want to but apparently I have to. So I guess you're gonna follow me?" Jean sighed, by her sisters happy and excited expression she knew she was stuck with Anne for good.
"Duh! What do you expect me to do?" The rest of the way to the castle was just plain boring. Anne was talking about some prince shed met and a whole lot of other junk like that, did Anne seriously think she cared about some stupid prince? After what seemed years of Anne babbling about princes they finally reached the gate. Anne pushed Jean out the way and knocked on the gate.
*
A small flap opened in the gate and a face appeared,
"Yes what do you want?" Anne stepped back letting Jean talk,
"Er, um, well, I'm Jean  and I was, er, told that I had to come and meet the queen" Jean hadn't really been looking at the man, she was afraid of what he might say but his answer; "She looks nothing like I expected." made her look up in surprise. The speaker was a man with long brown hair and a bored but very expressionative face, he was wearing a funny hat, Jean fought back the desire to laugh. The man seemed to be talking to himself more than anyone else, for he closed the flap and his footsteps grew fainter and fainter. They stood there, Jean wandering what the man had meant "She looks nothing like I expected." and as for Anne who knew what she was thinking, probably something about the prince she'd been talking about. Shortly afterwards the man appeared again telling them
"My mistress wants some of your hair." He looked even boreder than before. Jean laughed, this must be a joke,
'Some of my hair?' Jean giggled.
"Yes, that was what my mistress wishes." Jean looked back at Anne, she shrugged and said 'If it gets us in we may as well do it. A bit of hair won't hurt.'
"You mean I may as well do it.' corrected Jean, 'You don't have to do anything, besides you probably just want to see the prince.' The man raised his eyebrows at this,
"The Prince?" Anne scowled and said quickly
"It's nothing, Jean is talking nonsense." Jean pulled out a strand out a strand of her hair and gave it to the man and said
'Who is your mistress?' Jean asked, she was curious.
"You must not ask questions." He glared at her and walked away muttering to himself forgetting to close the flap. Jean leaned against the gate and sighed, she was getting bored of waiting. The gate swung open and Jean toppled over, embarrassed she got up quickly and dusted herself off. There were to maids standing there, one was young, maybe eighteen, nineteen, the other old about eighty, she was tutting as if Jean was a disgrace. The elder spoke to the younger,
"Ex zin va Jagger sahr." Then the younger one spoke,
"Yiz, qitino, si layakin ong"
"Yiz. Twa  ong." The elder replied. Jean could not understand what they were saying. Then the younger spoke again, this time in English.
'mm, 'pologies, I be Lise an tis
'Come,' said Lise grabbing Jean by the arm, 'we follow.' She led Jean through the same door and into a small but breath taking room. A staircase took up most of the room, it was beautifully made, constructed of hundred and hundreds of twigs twirling up to the next level. Even though it was made of twigs it looked incredibly strong, like magic was holding it up. Lise smiled at Jean and led her up the stairs and across a landing to another beautifully carved door.
"Your room, Jean"
Before Jean opened the door she noticed the carvings, written or carved in the door were the words 'The Room Of Jean Dorsy' It was a curly sort of hand writing and carved around the writing were pretty flowers that looked a bit like roses. Slowly jean opened the door. Jean gasped,
"Is this my room?" Lies smiled,
"Well did read the carvings?" This Jean took as a yes. The door opened into the nicest room Jean had ever seen, it seemed sorta familiar. The walls were a lilac blue, the furniture was lime washed. On the side closest to the door there were three squashy rose Pattern chairs around a small fireplace, the side walls each had two windows, the left side had a glass and white wood door, at the end of the room there was a large window and a double bed with a beautiful patchwork quilt. On the left wall there was a dresser and a mirror on the right wall there was two bookshelfs and a desk. Jean walked across to the double door and opened it, she stepped out onto a balcony, there was a beautiful view. There was another staircase like the one downstairs just this one led down to a pretty garden, there was a big lawn going down hill and around the edges there were hundreds of roses and other flowers. At the end of the lawn there was a gigantic tree and hanging from that was a big swing, and after that there was a patchwork of fields, vineyards and orchids going down the hill and far into the valley. Lies came up behind Jean and said 'you can play while I find a fitting dress.'then she left. Jean ran down the steps jumping two at a time, Jean ran across the lawn and to the swing. She climbed onto the swing and pushed off. The swing seemed to be going much higher than it really was because the swing was on a hill. The wind made Jeans hair fly back behind her, she laughed. Jean had always loved swings.
"Jean! Jean!"Jean hopped off the swing and turned around. Anne was running across the lawn and only when she got there she spoke,
'Hey,' she said
'Lise and Agnes couldn't find fancy clothes for you so they are washing my school uniform for you.' because Anne wasn't wearing her uniform she dressed herself in pretty dungarees made of denim and a white T-shirt.
"I still don't see why I have to dress up for meeting the queen."
"You do want to make a good expression don't you?"
"Yeah I guess."
'Come on' said Anne holding out her hand, Jean grabbed it and the started heading up.
'Do you have a room to? Jean asked as they walked up the hill.
'Just next to your room, there's even a door between our rooms, luckily we can lock it with a latch.' she said with a wink. And so the conversation about the castle and their adventure began...
Lise came running down the stairs calling
"Jean" She tripped on her skirt and fell over but Anne and Jean caught her,
'Oh, thank you, we'd better hurry up or we'll be late.' she said brushing the graze on her knee with a wet cloth that must have come from her large apron pocket. Jean let Lise lead her up the staircase into Jean's room. Jean sat down on the bed as Lise walked to the dresser and opened it, there was nothing inside it except Anne's school uniform. Jean dressed quickly, she was very nervous about meeting the queen. As soon as Jean and dressed they walked down the stairs and into the entrance hall. They walked across to the large door opisite the front gate and stepped inside the next room. This room was huge, there were large windows on the sides of the room covered by a thin white fabric, though it was covered in fabric it still let in the light. The walls were painted in a dark red and the floor was a light marble. There was a long dark purple carpet in the middle, it was about a metre wide and stretched the length of the hall. On the sides of the carpet there were rows of wooden benches like in a church and at the end of the hall there were three dark green thrones and behind that there were six wooden chairs. Suddenly a door at the back of the hall burst open and two woman with rather large crowns came into the room. They were fighting in some unknown language. Four people walked in behind them. There were two girls wearing a white apron over a dress, the one dress was the same green as the throne and the other the same purple as the carpet. Behind them were two boys wearing strange suits also each in purple or green. Jean looked back at Lise and just relized she to was wearing a white apron over a dress that was red in color. The door they had came through flung open and a boy about Jeans age hurried into the room also dressed in a dark red suit. He was much younger than the other boys who seemed about eighteen. Lise, Jean and the boy walked towards the others you had sat down in the chairs at the end of the room already. The two woman sat on the thrones, the woman wearing a long dark purple dress had just longer than shoulder length black hair, a thin pale face, big dark blue eyes heavily coated in dark eyeshadow and big dark red lips, she was very pretty and very intimidating. The other woman was not as pretty, she had short blonde hair, big green eyes, pink lips, she to was pale, her face was not as sharp and stern as the other woman, her face was soft and gentle though it was thin. She wore a long light green dress with white frills at the edges, it wasn't the prettiest dress. Lise took Jean over to sit in the third throne and she and the boy sat on two chairs behind her.

Chapter 7 Lost and then found in a Town

After awhile Jean stopped running, the fields seemed to go on for ever. Jean was getting tired and cold, a slight wind had picked up. Jean stopped at the top of what seemed to be the hundredth hill, she looked ahead all there was were hills going on as far as the eye could see, Jean stood there the wind blowing her night dress against her legs, she was ready to give up and and go home, she was lost. Confused and scared Jean started to walk down the hill. Jean did not like being all alone in this maze of hills, it was a terrible feeling not being near village, she wished there would be a village soon. While walking up the next hill Jean realized that the landscape had changed, there were lots of rocks and no more light bulb flowers. Jean scrambled over the rocks and once she even had to go under a rock because she couldn't get over it. By the time Jean got to the top of the hill she was covered in scratches. Jean looked down and to her relief saw a rather large village, not as big as the one she lived in but nearly the same size. Jean stumbled down the hill, she got to the bottom of the hill, feeling tired she tried hard to walk to the gate to knock but she was just to tired. Eventually Jean got to the gate and knocked, it made a very loud banging sound but Jean knew her small hand could not have made such a loud sound.
'Open the gate!' Jean heard some one shout. The door opened slowly, it looked like a very heavy door, when it was finally open (which was about fifteen minutes later) she walked inside...
Jean walked casually into the town, but she did not expect to see what she saw. In front of her was a large town square, there were no people there, but what was there was quite extraordinary, there were creatures with whiskers, horns, mouse ears, fur, extremely long feet, no eyes and the size of teddy bears...

Jean just stood there staring at what lay before her eyes. Jean was imeaditly lead into a little house by a female creature, Jean had to duck to get through the door, the female told Jean that her name was Alisia. Jean noticed it was the name of her friend. This might seem rude but for these creatures she did look a little bit like Alisia.
'Here sweetie,' said Alisia passing a alice band to Jean, 'while you are wearing that you can be our size.' As soon as the alice band was on Jeans head she felt a sort of squashed feeling. Soon she found she was the same size  as Alisia,
"What the?" this was weird, soon the squashed feeling went away. Alisia led Jean to a small back room were she could sleep a well needed sleep. In the morning Jean was giving a delious breakfast in bed. Jean walked into the front room which was a bit like a round dining room. Jean saw another little creature sitting at the table reading a very colourfull newspaper, this turned to not be such a good idea seeming you could barely read what was written on the newspaper.
'You are a new comer I see, you must see the queen' said the little white furred creature,
'Where am I?' wandered Jean out loud, she was very curious, this is very strange.
'Oh, welcome to Fare Arazi, did my wife not tell you?' the creature replied, Alisia shook her head looking ashamed, 'No matter, I have told you now.'
"I'm sorry, I didn't catch your name." The creature looked at her and whispered
'It's me Louie, this is my true form, I am a protector of the great Lelairch, I do not stand for this town's foolishness, while here call me Eilou, oh and my wife, Alsia is also a protector of the Lerairch.' Jean just starred at him she didn't understand, who were the Lelairch? and why was it a secret he was protecting them. Louie insisted that she went sraight to the queen. Jean stepped out of the house and took the alice band off her head, she no longer needed it. They started walking in silence, along the windy roads, Jean was glad she was not in a car, she would have been very car sick. Every now and then they would turn down another windy road.  Jean at first had tried to remember where she was going, but now, it almost seemed imposable to find your way around, it was almost as if the houses had been build first then the roads were build to wind round the houses. Soon they reached the foot of a hill, on which a road went up to a castle...

"Up that road and straight through the gate." Then Louie left, Jean started to walk feeling scared...

Chapter 6 The hidden Land (Anne)

Anne woke up with a headache, she lay there for awhile waiting to fall asleep again. And just before she did Anne heard her sister talking she didn't know what she was saying though. Poor girl nobody to talks to her but herself thought Anne, then to Anne's suprise another voice spoke back. Anne sat up and looked at her watch it was nearly midnight! Anne got up pulled on her school uniform for she knew she wouldn't manage to sleep again after being up, gosh, now she was going to have black rings under her eyes in the morning. Anne went to go see who Anne was talking to, at the top of the stairs Anne listened by the door, but all she heard was a door shutting. That's funny thought Anne, the only door going in or out of Jean's room was this one. This was to suspicious, Anne opened the door only to get another suprise, there was no one there, but what was there was a small door, that hadn't been there the day before. Anne walked cautiously toward the door, it began to glow. Anne reached for the handle only to hear a shrill voice
"Jean how did you get home without using the door?" Anne was puzled
"Get back from where? This is not Jean this is Anne, er, Jean's sister."  A small white mouse squeezed through the key whole
"Not Jean, well then why are you in Jean's room?" Anne had to think how to reply to that one.
"Er, I heard her talking and it's three in the morning so I came to see who she was talking to but now I just want to find her."
"She was talking to me, so you say you want to find Jean... well through here then" he said squeezing through the key hole.
'Um I don't think I can fit through the key hole' Anne replied wandering how Jean had fitted through.
'No silly, I'm opening the door.' The mouse said through the key hole. Sure enough the door opened and to reveal fields of flower's the size of light bulbs.
'I think she went that way' said the mouse pointing to the left.
'Bye!!!' Anne shouted as she ran in the direction the mouse had pointed...

Chapter 5 Free

Jean got up, why was the door glowing? She walked slowly, fulled with excited meant and fear, 'does it open?' Jean wandered out loud. The handle appeared to be real brass, the yellow paint turned into a light wood and the purple turned into silver. Jean gasped, it was the prettiest door she had ever seen. Jean grabbed the handle,
'Password?' shrieked  a shrill voice.
'Sssshhhhh' said Jean jumping back in fright,
"don't be so loud I'll get in trouble."
"Naughty are we? Awake late, tut tut."
'What password' Jean asked ignoring the other question.
'Never heard of the password, oh my, oh my, we are in a little trouble' replied what seemed to be some one behind the door, a small mouse climbed through the key whole,
'Hello' he said in the same shrill voice,
'I am Louie the door keeper. Who are you and how do you do?'
'Um, hello Louie, my name is Jean Dorsy' replied Jean. Louie gasped
'Jean Dorsy' he mumbled, 'Do you wish to enter'
'Yes please' Jean said anxiously
You got the password! Please, please please. Oh well done!' shrieked Louie
'Can I come in then?' asked Jean
'Hold on I will let you in now' replied Louie before he quickly scurried back through the key hole. Soon the door opened, Jean stepped through carefully...
Jean looked down at her feet and gasped,  everywhere around her little flowers grew on long strands of grass, the size of light bulbs they were. Jean ran and leaped then she spun around and fell on the ground. She lay there laughing, she had never felt so free, she picked up Louie who was now the size of a teddy bear and twirled him round and round. When she put him down again he had a dizzy look on his face as he walked blindly around and fell over. Jean giggled. When Louie got up he gave Jean a key and said
'Farewell Mrs Dorsy' and then he and the door disappeared. Jean turned and ran, where to? She had no idea...

Chapter 4 Umbrella lake

Jean first went to the bathroom to wash and put a plaster on her cut. Jean then ran up two flights of stairs and into her bedroom. She lay some fresh newspaper on the floor where she would be working, Jean thought that newspaper should be more colorful, not this boring black and white, if Jean ever designed a newspaper it would be full of colors, there would be hardly any black and white. The jars of paint had to be mixed before used and when Jean opened the first jar of paint she smelt the clean sort of acid smell, her dad always smelled of paint. First Jean painted the white space yellow, then she painted the detail in purple.  Jean imagined what might be behind the door... Jean looked out the window, it was getting dark. Jean walked to the window, the stars were burning as bright as silver. She stared passed the woods, over the fields and all the way to the lake. Her father... Jean went into the past...
Jean ran past her family, she held the umbrella high above her head, she ran into the water fulled with glee. Jean turned the umbrella upside down and pushed it out into the water. Jean swam next to the umbrella as far as she could, when she got tired she climbed in. Jean sat there for a minute or two thinking about how pretty everything was.

"Jean!" Jean's dad, Charlie came swimming after her,
"Stay still Jean, I'll be there now, don't move!"
"Daddy! look here, my umbrella floats!" Jean said standing up.
"Jean no!" Charlie swam as fast as he could but he was to late, Jean fell over into the water, Charlie screamed...
Jean lay gasping on the shore,
"DADDY!" she looked around, her mom Malory came to pick her up and as Malory did so Jean saw her father lying on the ground.
"Mummy why is daddy on the ground?" Malory burst into tears but Jean never got an answer, Jean still remembered the day she went into a great hall to say goodbye to her dad...
Jean lay her head on the window sill crying, she felt like it was her fault but she knew it was not. Jean must have cried herself to sleep because Jean's mum woke her up and told her to go to bed. Jean lay in bed looking at the door then something very strange happened, the door started to glow...

Chapter 3 A New Plan

Jean got up slowly, she suddenly she felt scared, maybe this wasn't such a good idea. Jean stood at the edge of the stairs waiting, waiting for her sister to come home. As soon as she heard the door open Jean ran as fast as she could down all three flights of stairs, tripping on the last one she finally reached Anne.
"Anne, Anne, um, is there, a, a, er, door in the the atttticc," Jean said stumbling on her words as she was out of breath. Anne look puzzled,
"What?"
Jean didn't like having to say things twice, usually she would have sighed and walked away, but this, this was important.
"Anne is there a door in the attic?"
Anne sighed, "Don't ask stupid questions like that, we don't have an attic, the highest room in this house is your room." Anne pushed passed Jean and started to walk up stairs. Jean thought about it, this was true, her room was the highest room in the house, their house was kind of wonky, from the outside it looked like it would fall over any minute.

When Jean was little her dad would make little jokes about it, she remembered his voice, "Jean, remember don't get up at night or the house might fall over." Then she heard his little chuckle as he left the room. Jean remembered the day her dad died, five years ago, Jean tried not to cry, then she remembered her dad's favourite words, "If your plan doesn't work make a new one." Jean ran upstairs with great excitement, she ran up to her room, if her room was the highest room, so maybe, it was the attic! Jean ran into her room, she had the best idea, her head was swimming. She would paint the door on her wall, she looked at her room, the walls were painted light blue and at the bottom of the walls there was grass painted on. Jean remembered the day she and her father painted the grass, Jean laughed just thinking about it. She looked around the room, the only spot without grass was where her mirror used to be, there wasn't even any light blue there, it was just a patch of white wall, also the perfect size for a small door. Jean ran down stairs to fetch the paint but was stopped by her sister, "You better not make a mess today, or mum will hate you," she said. Jean wasn't fooled she knew Anne was just saying that to make her behave. Jean pushed past her sister and ran outside towards the barn. Jean pulled at the doors of the barn, they were heavy doors, Jean always thought of them as big heavy castle doors, and they barn was her father's castle. Jean pulled and pulled, after a huge tug she fell flat on her bottom. She knew the doors were unlocked, because they had lost the keys and it was always unlocked. Jean went round to the back of the barn and climbed through the window, a piece of broken glass cut her knee. Inside the barn Jean sat on the floor licked her finger and wiped the blood from her leg, "Ow!" Jean looked around the barn, up on the highest shelf to the left were the jars of paint, which colours to use? Jean got down a yellow jar and a light purple jar. She saw her old mirror in the corner of the room, it was cracked. Jean looked at her reflection in the mirror,

her curly brown pigtails were  very messy from climbing through the window, one was undone, Jean quickly tied it up again. Her fringe was cut messily just above her eyes, her eyes were a bright blue, the colour of a clean pool, maybe a little brighter. Her rosy cheeks were full of mud and her thin body shaking from cold, her pale skin was covered in goose bumps. Jean quickly picked up the paint again and climbed out the window, it was very cold, there was a strong wind outside, where did this come from? wandered Jean, her head went wild, what if this wind meant something bad was about to happen, Jean dropped the thought and she quickly ran inside to paint...

Chapter 2 The Door

After mopping and cleaning Jean was finally allowed to go to bed. She dragged her feet up the stairs, she was so tired it was like long chains holding her back. She turned into her room. Her mom had not noticed the painted clouds yet, but Jean had forgotten all about them, until she lay down on her bed, the room was semi filled with light, so she could just see her work, she looked up at her clouds, they looked so soft and gentle yet at the same time not. Jean was filled with imagination, she was soaring high in the clouds she pulled the clouds apart holding them in her hand, let's eat she cried in her imagination stuffing a tuft of cloud into her mouth, mmm, delicous strawberry and orange flavoured. Jean was suddenly brought out of her thoughts by the sound of her sister's voice, "You are a stupid little ten year old," she whispered, "you made mom so stressed and you have ruined the house, it looks terrible." Jean thinking fast said "At least it looks better then your face!" Maybe that wasn't such a good idea thought Jean as her sister threw a brush at Jean's head, luckily she missed and sulked back to her room. Stupid sister thought Jean, but just then Jean heard a voice in her head saying "Jean... your sister was hurt by you, there was no need to say that." "She hurt me!" Jean said allowed, but the voice was gone. "I must be going mad" Jean murmed to herself, "just like every one else thinks, stupid, mad Jean." That night Jean found it hard to fall asleep and when she did she had the strangest of dreams, she dreamed that at the top of the attic there was a small door and the voice was there again, it told her that only Jean herself could unlock the door... Jean woke up the next day with great excitement, she hurried to get dressed for school, maybe she thought while running down the stairs, if I am early for school, school will start early and I can get home sooner. Jean ate breakfast as fast as she could and ran all the way to school doing her tie along the way. This turned out not to be, being earlier for school just made the day longer. "Maybe I should have come late" Jean said after telling her friend Alisia the whole story. Alisia just nodded her head not speaking as usuall. Jean wandered what did Alisia's voice sound like? Sweet and mellow she thought. Jean looked around the play ground watching the other children play, she saw a couple of girls laughing and pointing at her, Jean glared at them and turned back to Alisia. "I think those girls should turn into pigs so we can all laugh at them" Alisia just nodded again. Jean sighed, her only friend wouldn't even talk to her. After school Jean walked slowly home, along the town roads and along the farm road past all the grazing sheep. She stopped just before her house staring into the forest, Jean was forbidden to go in there, 'what if... no.' she wandered, she quickly tore herself from that thought and ran the rest of the way home. Once at home Jean's mood worsened, Jean felt very hurt everyone was always laughing at her and no one wanted to talk to her. Jean lay crying on her bed. She lay the for quite a while imagining herself being locked in a dungeon and the guard saying you are to unknown to exist. Then she remembered the door...

Begining & Chapter 1

"Your imagination is just another land behind a door that only you can unlock"

In the land through the door where our story takes place, I ask you to remember their law, which was a little poem that was sometimes sung, it goes like this...

We have a few leaders, all travel in threes,
one leader, one servant, one adviser.
The leader pretends to know best,
but the adviser is much wiser,
the advisers has to advise,
and with no lies.
The servant was  usually a pixie,
and often very  trixy.
When all was advised and spoken,
a man would read to public, they called him the reader.
But if a what spoken or read was broken,
a price of heart was paid.

No one who lived in the land through the door had ever broken what was spoken or read and neither did they know what 'a price of heart' was...

Chapter 1 Paint

Jean Dorsy sat on her bed her head tilted back looking at all the clouds she had just painted on her ceiling, there were candy clouds painted lots of different colors, grey and white was too boring. She was tired now, her hair and clothes covered in paint she stumbled to the bathroom to wash before her mother came home. Jean sat down on the toilet seat to think while she waited for her bath to fill. It suddenly occured to her that her sister, Anne had been in her room all day and not come out, this wasn't too unusual she was often in her room but every now and then she would come out and shout at Jean for doing something even if it was making a potato, apple, garlic, vinegar and milk soup, (which Jean thought was unfair why was she shouted at for making a simple soup!) then Anne would go back into her room and not come out. Jean sat there wandering about it for a while before she decided that there was no point sitting thinking about it she would go and see what Anne was up to. Jean tip toed to Anne's room, there was loud music playing inside, Anne seamed to be talking to some one. Jean carefully looked through the gap in the door, just not carefully enough, she tripped over her own feet pushing the door wide open and leaving a large paint smudge on the door! She quickly got up and ran not bothering to look who Anne was talking to. Jean ran down the stairs but was stopped in her tracks when she heard her sister scream,  "JEAN!!!" Jean quickly hid behind the passage door hoping her sister wouldn't find her. Soon enough her sister's head appeared round the door, she looked angry, very angry. Jean waited for her to shout, she held her breath, crossed her fingers, her heart beating fast, but it didn't come, instead she heard her mothers voice, "JEAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!?!?!?!?!?!?! THERE ARE PAINT MARKS ALL OVER THE FLOOR!!!!!!!!!" There was a silence as her mother walked upstairs. Jean had forgotten, she had left the bath running, "JEAN THE BATHROOM IS FLOODED WHAT HAVE YOU DONE??????????" Jean started to cry.
